Special Event Design Samples

Special Event Design:  Travel South Showcase 1996
Client: Mississippi Department of Tourism
Summary: The year was 1996 and the hosting honors for the annual convention for the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) fell upon the Department of Tourism for the state of Mississippi.

The creative team m et the challenge of showcasing Mississippi by creating a LIVE game show entitled "You Bet Your Grits". Three lucky contestants were selected from an audience of over 1500 to participate in a fun, wacky, and memorable question and answer game (ala JEPARDY) whereas each person was asked specific trivia questions regarding the unique features and travel destinations Mississippi offers its visitors.

A full range of special event materials were designed to promote the "live" game show including theme signage, ID tags, promotional postcards, posters, faux TV show program guides, event tickets, free promotional t-shirts, and more.
